College of Business Case Study In Antwerp
During the spring semester of 2012, I was selected to attend the University of Antwerp in Belgium. Thirty business students from James Madison University also participated in this program. Belgian Professors lectured our class in Marketing, Finance, Management, Operations, and the processes of the European Union. I was enrolled as a full-time student in Belgium, earning a total of fifteen college credits. Various other professors also lectured our class in subjects such as European Art Culture, Flemish, and Professional Development.
Throughout the semester, I visited businesses in the following countries: Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Austria, Ireland, Czech Republic, Holland, Spain, and Italy.
I was assigned to a team of five students to complete a semester-long case study on the De Beers Diamond Company. The case study included an in-depth analysis of the company's finances, marketing strategies, management structures, and operations. At the end of the semester, our class was given the opportunity to visit Antwerp's Diamond District.
